If you want to spend your Halloween in one of the scariest places in the world, consider visiting Bran Castle in Romania, also known as Dracula's Castle. It attracts thrill-seekers as it is rumoured to be inhabited by vampires and ghosts. However, there is an opinion that Dracula’s real residence is not Bran, but Poenari Castle. Many historical documents connect this place with Vlad the Impaler, the historical prototype of Count Dracula. Hoia Baciu Forest is one of the most mysterious Halloween destinations in Transylvania. According to legend, at the beginning of the last century, the area, which had previously been unremarkable, for unknown reasons changed beyond recognition. Animals and birds left this forest, the tree trunks gradually bent at different angles, and the ground was covered with thick moss.
Transylvania hosts many Halloween parties. The loudest of them are in Bran Castle and in the mediaeval citadel of Dracula's hometown of Sighisoara.

There are many spooky places to celebrate Halloween 2023 in the US. Salem is perhaps the most famous. Decorating the city for Halloween here begins in September, and themed attractions and exhibitions for the holiday run not just for one day, but throughout October. In Salem, on Halloween, visit the Witch Museum, which contains information about the infamous Salem Witch Hunt. The house of Judge Jonathan Corwin, who took part in the witch trials, and the witch village are also popular. In Salem, every self-respecting club, hotel or restaurant throws big parties from the first of October until the end of the month. New Orleans is one of the most mystical cities in the USA. Burg Frankenstein Castle is perhaps the most mystical place in Germany. Tourists are attracted by the creepy story of one of the owners of the Burg. Joseph Conrad, the same "von Frankenstein", was a scientist and alchemist. In the basement of the castle, he created a laboratory where he conducted his experiments. This man tried to create an elixir of immortality from blood and body parts, bones of animals and people. One day he suddenly disappeared and was later found dead in a laboratory with an incredible amount of scattered human body parts. Although Frankenstein was buried, they say that the alchemist’s soul never left the castle walls and wanders there in the form of a ghost. Every year the castle hosts the scariest Halloween party, which locals often throw for tourists.

Stratford-upon-Avon is world famous as the birthplace of William Shakespeare. This town is home to the Falstaff Experience, an ancient house dating back to the 14th century that once belonged to William Rogers and was the inspiration for Shakespeare's character Sir John Falstaff. Today, the house is rumoured to be haunted by more than 40 ghosts. During the daytime excursions are organised here, and at night the place becomes one of the most popular in England for encounters with ghosts. During Halloween, real séances are held here. Halloween in Stratford-upon-Avon also includes a zombie parade, magic classes for budding witches, wizards and numerous ghost and Tudor stories.

Locals say that the ghost of Rus', who was executed for murder, haunts these places to this day. Another scary place is the Casa Samano Museum. It is said that the vengeful spirit of Colombia's most hated historical figure, the Viceroy of New Granada, Juan Samano, still resides here.
